The beach has golden sands with rocky cliffs. Because this beach is in a quiet bay protected from the sea, waves are also nonexistent most days, making it ideal for families with small children and snorkelling.

Most accommodations in this area are villas and rental houses. Since all the life, restaurants, bars and activities are located near the beach, ensure your accommodation is also near the beach. Also, this area is deceptively hilly. So for families with small children or people with limited mobility, it is essential to check this before booking.

Things to do in Cala Vadella

  • Watersports: Cala Vadella is all about the beach and sea, so you can rent water sports equipment here. Kayaking and paddleboarding are very popular to do here.
  • Big Blue Ibiza: This diving school organises diving trips to the best places on the islands from Cala Vadella.
  • Hiking: Since there is so much nature around, this place is excellent for hiking. Many hiking trails nearby take you along the coastline but know that in July and August, it might be too hot to enjoy.

Restaurants, bars and nightlife

For being just a small holiday destination in Ibiza with few hotels, this area has quite a few restaurants. And not only that but also a large variety of different cuisines. Spanish dishes, fresh seafood, Italian, snack places and many more, you can find it all here. Also, for being Ibiza, food is reasonably priced here as well.

Nightlife is very limited in this area. Primarily focused on dining, drinks and cocktails beside or on the beach. Some bars have an occasional DJ playing soft relaxing music.

  • Public transport (4.70 €/pp): Budget-friendly option, but you need at least 2 different buses to reach your destination.
  • Shuttle bus online (23.75 €/pp): Best and easiest option for solo travellers.
  • Taxi or minibus online (101.59 €): If you need car seats for small children, this is the only way, as taxis at the airport don’t generally have these available. You also won’t need to queue at the airport taxi stand. The minibus is excellent for those travelling with more than 4 people or a lot of luggage.
  • Taxi at the airport (43.00 €): This is the base price. The price is higher during weekends, evenings, roadworks, traffic jams, or detours. Maximum 4 people and no child safety seats.

Cala Vadella is good from half of May to half of October. Since this is a tiny destination in Ibiza, going before or after these dates might mean some things are closed. The best months to visit for the best beach weather are June, July, August and September. July and August are the busiest, so best to go in June or early September if you can.
