Cala Tarida is a beautiful golden sandy beach with crystal clear water. You will find many restaurants and beach bars beside the beach overlooking the sea. The beach can get quite busy in the high season, but this is the same for many beaches in Ibiza, so if you want to rent a sunbed, it is best to come early. You can also do several water sports from the beach or take a day trip by boat to one of the nearby beaches.

Things to do in Cala Tarida

  • Sunset: Because of the beach’s orientation and the many restaurants and bars lining it, this is a great place to enjoy the sunsets.
  • Watersports: This area offers equite a few watersports like pedal boats, paddle boarding, kayaks and motorized ones like jet skiing.
  • Boat trips: There are plenty of boat trips to Es Vedrà island, nearby beaches and coves and sunset locations.
  • Cala Bassa: This famous beach and beach club is less than 15 minutes by taxi away.
  • Cala Comte: An ideal nearby place to watch the sunsets and have a nice dinner at the same time.
  • Cala Moli and Cala Codolar: For adventurous people these are 2 small nice beaches nearby. Both of these are about one hour hiking from Cala Tarida but there are also other ways to get there like renting a kayak.

Restaurants

For being not a very big holiday destination in Ibiza, there is a nice variety but a small amount of restaurants and places to eat here. Next to the beach, you find a lot of pricey and upscale restaurants like the Cotton Beach Club, focussing fine dining. So when dining next to the beach in the evening or grabbing a snack during the day, it is best to look at the menu before to avoid surprises. Most of these restaurants have fantastic views over the beach and sea here and offer great food.

Nightlife

Nightlife in Cala Tarida is limited. Most evenings are about dining out and having some drinks on the beach. Some beach bars and restaurants have relaxing life performances or a Dj playing relaxing music. Most places in Cala Tarida close before midnight.

  • Public transport (6.60 €/pp): Budget option, but you need at least 2 different buses to reach Cala Tarida.
  • Shuttle bus online (23.75 €/pp): Best for solo travellers.
  • Taxi or minibus online (101.59 €): If you need child safety seats, this is the only option, as taxis at the airport don’t generally have these. Also, no queuing or waiting at the airport taxi stand. If you are with more than 4 or have a lot of luggage, then the minibus is a great option.
  • Taxi at the airport (30.00 €): This is the base price. The price is higher during weekends, evenings, detours, traffic jams and roadworks. Maximum 4 people and no child safety seats.

Since the main attraction in Cala Tarida is the beach and sea, it is best to visit in June, July, August and September for the best beach holiday weather. If you can go in June or September, these are generally the best for beach lovers who want to avoid the crowds. May and October might have some more rain but they are also much more budget-friendly.
