Bonus tips for perfect family holidays in Fuerteventura

  • Fuerteventura is known for its natural and pristine golden sand beaches. If you love the beach and don’t need much else nearby, then Melia Fuerteventura and Hotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort are also worth considering. Both are budget-friendly, family-friendly hotels surrounded by kilometres of pristine beaches and nothing else.
  • Lanzarote is a large island, and getting from the North to the South takes several hours. If you want to visit many of the best attractions and amusement parks in Fuerteventura during your holiday, it is best to stay in Caleta de Fuste as this is in the middle of the island, close to the airport and the shortest drive to most of the parks.
  • While you can visit Fuerteventura most of the year and expect good weather, you can quickly look here for the best time to visit Fuerteventura.
  • If you travel with young, non-school-age children, travelling outside the school holidays can save you lots of money on flights and accommodation.
  • Make sure to book a shuttle or taxi before arriving, as a taxi to Morro Jable, Esquinzo, Jandia, and Butihondo at the airport costs over 100 euros. Especially for late arrivals or weekend arrivals as prices are even higher then. If you are travelling with more than 4 people … you will need 2 as taxis at the airport only fit the driver and a maximum of 4 passengers. Also, taxis at the airport rarely have child safety seats available.
