Puerto de las Nieves is a little resort in the North of Gran Canaria near the famous town of Agaete. If you want to be away from all the tourism and want an authentic Spanish vibe, this tiny coastal village could be great for you.
Beaches
Puerto de las Nieves is a unique holiday destination, and they also have some rather unique swimming possibilities here. There are some lovely beaches here, and they never get swamped as this area is not very touristy. All of it feels very authentic.
A bit outside, but just a small walk away, you will find the Las Salinas pools. The saltwater pools right next to the sea also
Hotels
There are just a few small hotels in Puerto de la Nieves. You can find all of them on Booking.com (affiliate).
Nightlife
There is not much nightlife in this area; however, a few local bars stay open late. But if you are looking to go clubbing or anything like that, you won’t find any of that here.
Restaurants & bars
Puerto de las Nieves has quite a few excellent restaurants. Many of them cater to the local population and serve especially fish and tapas. All of these are served in the authentic Spanish way.
Shopping
Don’t expect to do any shopping here. Your best option is to drive into Las Palmas one day if you want to get some shopping done. However, if you are worried about supermarkets, if you are doing self-catering, you can find those here without a problem.
